The Stormguard

This is my current "main" army. I've been playing Imperial Guard for a few years. In the army's fluff, i built them as the planetary defense force for my Marine chapter's homeworld. Hence the similar colors & emblem.

Originally my army was more of an armored company, with a lot of tanks and very few men. This changed as of the new codex and now I am shifting the focus toward more men and less tanks and supported special forces deployed with valkyries.

For Apocalypse I can field over 5000 points including 2 baneblades and a Leviathan regimental HQ tank.

I created some blog posts on several message boards for this army. I like to get opinions and ideas from a lot of folks as I make stuff :) Check em out:

Company Command Squads
Here are my 3 Company Command Squads. I have 3 different squads depending on the type of game I plan to play. Company Command Alpha is for a gunline and to support heavy weapon squads. Company Command Bravo is for extra anti-tank melta goodness. The Inquisitor I mostly take against chaos for fluff reasons, and if I have a lot of power armor to melt.

Advisors
Coming soon! I will be adding a Commissar Lord, Pirmaris Psyker and the 3 advisors.

Death Korps Grenadiers
I was using these as stormtroopers, however I recently sold them. I decided I wanted to keep my army as an all Cadian based force.

Infantry Platoons
These are older photos, I plan to take new ones as I will be restructuring them for the new rules. Alpha Platoon will feature 20 infantry and 2 heavy weapon squads. Bravo platoon will have 20 infantry and 2 special weapon squads. Both platoon command squads will have the officer, 3 plasmaguns and a vox caster.

Veteran Squads
Here are 2 units of vets with shotguns and 3 meltas each, also a shot with my 2nd Company Command squad who will hang around with these 2 units, making their own little "Vet Platoon". The shotguns were made with the Space Marine Scout shotguns stuck onto Cadian arms.

Hellhound Squadron
Here are my Hellhounds. I actually have 3 now for a full squadron. I'll take new pics of all 3 together soon.

Valkyries
This is my first of 2 Valkyries. The nose art is a decal set that I purchased from Starship Modeler. The 2nd Valkyrie will be similar. I use them as transports for my melta vets.

Leman Russ Squadron
So far I just have a regular battle tank and old style demolisher. I will be adding a new tank from the new kit with all weapons magnetized, so I can field it as a demolisher, Executioner or Punnisher. I'll add pics once that's all painted.

Ordnance Battery
Here is the first imperial guard model I ever made, a basilisk. I have a 2nd one waiting to be painted and eventually will have a full unit of 3

Coming Soon
I'm planning to add a Deathstrike and have been thinking about making a Manticore using the leftover rockets from my Valkyries.

Baneblade
I was first in line for the baneblade when it was released. It took me 3 weeks to build and paint it, but it was a great kit. I made a blog on Dakka Dakka when I was building it, click here to check it out.

Leviathan Regimental HQ
I found an old tank toy in my attic when I was cleaning and preparing to move. I knew from the moment I saw it that it would be a perfect base to build a leviathan onto. So I stocked up on some Cities of Death terrain kits and went to town. Overall the project took me 6 months to build and paint. I started several blogs around the web, so feel free to check them out on Dakka Dakka, Warseer or Boot Camp. Also check out the PDF datasheet I made for it, based on the Bell of Lost Souls datasheets.

Coming Soon
I have a 2nd baneblade waiting to be painted, it will look just like the first only with 2 sets of side sponsons. Some day I hope to have a full squadron of 3.
